Application of AlNiCo magnets

AlNiCo is one of the earliest developed permanent magnet materials and is an alloy of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, iron and other trace metals. AlNiCo permanent magnet materials were successfully developed in the 1930s. At that time, it had the best magnetic properties and a small temperature coefficient, so it was the most widely used and widely used in permanent magnet motors. After the 1960s, with the advent of ferrite permanent magnets and rare earth permanent magnets, the application of AlNiCo permanent magnets in motors has gradually been replaced, and the proportion is decreasing.

Alnico Magnets have high coercivity and high Curie temperature. Alnico alloys are hard and brittle, cannot be cold work, and must be made by a casting or sintering process.

AlNiCo permanent magnet products are widely used in a variety of instrumentation and other applications.

Many industrial and consumer products require strong magnets, such as motors, electric guitar pickups, microphones, sensors, speakers, traveling wave tubes, cow magnets, etc., All of them use AlNiCo magnets. But now, many products use rare earth magnets because they give a stronger magnetic field (Br) and a higher maximum magnetic energy product (BHmax), allowing for a smaller product volume.
