Magnetic locator instrument is measuring drilling casing collar location. Composed by the neodymium magnet and a coil mounted on the copper housing. When the instrument moving in the well through the casing collar, since the couplings at the sleeve thicker, changing the distribution of the magnetic field of the magnet around, so that the change in magnetic flux through the coil to generate an induced electromotive force. The record size of the induced current, will get a casing collar curve. Casing collar curve with radioactive well logs can accurately determine the well perforation position.
