Why are magnets used in speakers?
All speakers don't use magnets. Only magnetic speakers make use of a magnet to generate mechanical vibration (sound) with the interaction relating to the magnetic flux developed by the pulsating electronic signals passing by having a coil suspended inside the strong magnetic flux with the magnet. Other forms of speakers like piezo speakers (for instance, buzzers in wristwatches) don't use a magnet. Piezo speakers use piezo electric effect. They generate mechanical vibration by applying a signal to some piezo electric crystal.
